Orlando, FL (November 24, 2020) – The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando is kicking-off the 2020 holiday season with a dazzling winter display that includes an oversized gingerbread house for the first time ever. From now through the New Year, the 878 all-suite, residential-style resort has transformed its lobby into the ultimate holiday destination, where moments will be turned into lasting memories. The Grove’s life-sized gingerbread house is not only a must-see attraction, but it’s also been designated as a Toys for Tots drop off now through December 10, 2020 and for those who drop a toy off, receive a treat. Additionally, those who snap a picture by the Gingerbread House, post on Facebook, will be entered into a contest where one person will receive a complimentary night stay in a two-bedroom suite at the resort.
“2020 has been a very unique and challenging year so we wanted to create something at The Grove that was not only uplifting and festive, but that was meaningful and gave back to the community,” said Rod O’Connor, General Manager at The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando. “It was important to us to be a hotel that is keeping the holiday spirit alive during such a difficult year, so our talented team came together to create the edible gingerbread house, which has been a labor of love for the past 28 days.”
The Grove’s creative culinary and engineering teams meticulously planned the construction of this enormous Gingerbread House. The impressive structure stands more than 9 feet high, 8 feet wide and 8 feet deep and features more than 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread bricks, more than 100 pounds of royal icing and more than 1,000 pieces of candy including chocolate caramel balls, candy canes, mini Snickers bars, mini Milky Way bars, Starlight Mints and more.
